Terms of service
Draft. This page is waiting for legal review before Sastra Cloud accepts paying customers.
These terms are an agreement between you and Lectio (“we”, “us”), the operator of Sastra Cloud at sastra.cloud. Lectio also operates lectio.pro. By creating an account you accept these terms.
1. The service
Sastra Cloud runs a private copy of the Sastra application for your organization (a “workspace”) at an address we provide, with a database, file storage, a correspondence email address, backups, upgrades and support. The Sastra application itself is free software under the GNU Affero General Public License version 3; these terms cover the hosted service, not your rights under that license.
2. Accounts and workspaces
You must give a working email address and keep it current. You are responsible for the people you invite to your workspace and for what they do in it. One trial per organization. We may refuse or close accounts that abuse the service, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
3. Trial, fees and payment
A workspace starts with a 14-day free trial. A payment card is required to start. When the trial ends the subscription begins at the price shown at checkout, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. Payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd, our merchant of record, and their terms apply to the payment itself. Prices exclude taxes that Paddle collects where required. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email; changes apply from your next renewal.
4. Cancellation, suspension and deletion
You can cancel at any time from your account page. Access continues to the end of the paid period. If a payment fails we keep the workspace running for 7 days while you fix it, then suspend it. A suspended or cancelled workspace is kept, with its backups, for 30 days, during which you can export your data or reactivate. After 30 days we delete it. See the refund policy.
5. Your data
Your data stays yours. We process it only to run the service for you, as described in the privacy policy and the data processing addendum. You can export the full database and all files on request. You are responsible for having the right to store the content you and your team put into the workspace, including email you forward to the correspondence address.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to send unsolicited email, to store or send unlawful content, to attack other systems, or to circumvent limits such as the number of people in a workspace or the AI allowance. The correspondence address is for your organization's own mail.
7. AI features
AI features send text from your workspace to an AI provider (OpenRouter and the model providers it routes to) to produce suggestions. Suggestions can be wrong; a person reviews them before they take effect. The plan includes a monthly allowance of AI credits, and you may buy more.
8. Availability and support
During the beta the service is offered without an uptime guarantee. We take daily backups and restore from them if we lose data. Support is by email at support@sastra.cloud on working days. We will announce planned maintenance in advance when we can.
9. Changes to the service
We upgrade workspaces to new versions of Sastra. We may change or remove features; if a change removes something you rely on, tell us and we will look for a way forward, and you can always export your data and self-host the same software.
10. Liability
We provide the service with reasonable care but “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Termination by us
We may end the service with 90 days' notice, and sooner if you break these terms in a serious way. In either case you can export your data, and the software remains available to self-host.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, unless consumer law where you live says otherwise.
